微軟資助人工智慧（AI）新創公司OpenAI，過去5年來合作密切，外媒今天（27日）指出，雙方早在去年就已簽署一項協議，其中明確定義，當OpenAI創造出能獲利1000億美元（約新台幣3.27兆元）的AI系統時，可視為OpenAI進入通用AI階段。

通用人工智慧（artificial general intelligence，簡稱AGI）是指機器具有的智慧，能理解或學習人類能做的任何理智性任務，這是一種AI類型，目的是模擬人類大腦的認知能力。

根據科技新聞網站The Information報導，這項協議以獲利金額下定義，相較於其他業者從技術或哲學角度來解釋通用AI（artificial general intelligence，簡稱AGI），有很大的不同。

OpenAI傳出今年恐面臨數十億美元虧損，直到2029年之前都難以轉虧為盈。若根據與微軟協議的定義，OpenAI距離通用AI還有很長一段路要走。

進入通用AI階段後，也代表OpenAI不再需要微軟金援，得以獨立運作，微軟未來可能無法直接取得OpenAI技術。

近來OpenAI面臨財務壓力，加上與微軟的投資策略分歧等問題，雙方的好交情已逐漸生變，雖然表面上維持合作關係，私底下卻各有盤算。

外電先前報導，為了降低對OpenAI模型的依賴，微軟考慮針對旗下AI助理產品新北收購筆電microsoft 365 Copilot，導入內部開發和第三方AI模型，把節省下來的成本回饋給終端客戶。

微軟11月在官方部落格文章中提到，目前有數十萬的用戶使用微軟AI技術，近7成「財富500強」公司正在使用新北收購筆電microsoft 365 Copilot。
